Illegitimate Khamer (Arak)

عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ يَوْمَ نَزَلَ وَهِيَ مِنْ خَمْسَةِ أَشْيَاءَ مِنْ الْعِنَبِ وَالتَّمْرِ وَالْعَسَلِ وَالْحِنْطَةِ وَالشَّعِيرِ وَالْخَمْرُ مَا خَامَرَ الْعَقْلَ

وَثَلَاثٌ وَدِدْتُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُفَارِقْنَا حَتَّى يَعْهَدَ إِلَيْنَا فِيهِنَّ عَهْدًا نَنْتَهِي إِلَيْهِ الْجَدُّ وَالْكَلَالَةُ وَأَبْوَابٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الرِّبَا

3669. Of Umar, he said: The verse revealed regarding prohibition khamer (explain) there are five types of goods, namely: grapes, dates, honey, khinthah, poetry (both are types of wheat). Khamer is something close sense. There are three things that I hope is explained by the Prophet before he left this world, namely my grandfather status under the law of inheritance, Al Kalaalah and some cases of riba. "(Saheeh: muttafaq 'alaih)

 عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ
 قَالَ عُمَرُ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شِفَاءً فَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْبَقَرَةِ { يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنْ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ } الْآيَةَ قَالَ فَدُعِيَ عُمَرُ فَقُرِئَتْ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شِفَاءً فَنَزَلَتْ الْآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي النِّسَاءِ { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى } فَكَانَ مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ يُنَادِي أَلَا لَا يَقْرَبَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ سَكْرَانُ فَدُعِيَ عُمَرُ فَقُرِئَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَيِّنْ لَنَا فِي الْخَمْرِ بَيَانًا شِفَاءً فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ { فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُنْتَهُونَ } قَالَ عُمَرُ انْتَهَيْنَا 3670.

From Umar, he said: When the verse forbidding khamer down, Umar said, "O Allah, explain to us with a satisfactory
explanation about khamer." Then there came down a verse in surah Al Baqarah: "They ask thee concerning khamer and gambling. Say:" In them is great sin .... '"(Surat Al-Baqarah [2]: 219) Prophet then invited Umar and he recited the verse to him. Umar then said, "O Allah, explain to us with a satisfactory explanation about khamer!" Then fell a verse in Sura An-Nisaa '"O you who believe, do not pray, are you drunk ...." (Surat an-Nisa' [4]: 43) It was also a caller of the Prophet to prayer (muezzin) exclaimed, "You know, people who are drunk should not be praying!" Umar then recited the verse and invited him. Umar then said, "O Allah, explain to us with a satisfactory explanation!" Then this verse came down: "... then you stop (of doing it).'''' (Surat Al Maa'idah [5]: 91) Umar said," We had to stop. "(Saheeh)

 عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ دَعَاهُ وَعَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ فَسَقَاهُمَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تُحَرَّمَ الْخَمْرُ فَأَمَّهُمْ عَلِيٌّ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ فَقَرَأَ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ فَخَلَطَ فِيهَا فَنَزَلَتْ { لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى حَتَّى تَعْلَمُوا مَا تَقُولُونَ } 3671.

Of Ali ibn Abu Talib, he said: A man of the Ansar invited Ali and Abdurrahman bin Auf, and both served khamer, before the verse Prohibition khamer. After that they maghrib prayer in congregation, while Ali ibn Abu Talib became his priest. He read the verse, "Qul yaa ayyuha al kaafiruun," (Surat Al Kaafiruun [109]: 1) and then mix it (with another verse), so the verse came down: "... ye pray, are you drunk, so you understand what you say .... "(Surat an-Nisa '[4]: 43) (Saheeh: At-Tirmidhi), 2229

 عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ { يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَقْرَبُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْتُمْ سُكَارَى } وَ { يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنْ الْخَمْرِ وَالْمَيْسِرِ قُلْ فِيهِمَا إِثْمٌ كَبِيرٌ وَمَنَافِعُ لِلنَّاسِ } نَسَخَتْهُمَا الَّتِي فِي الْمَائِدَةِ { إِنَّمَا الْخَمْرُ وَالْمَيْسِرُ وَالْأَنْصَابُ } الْآيَةَ

3672. From Ibn Abbas, he said: The verse, "O you who believe, do not pray, you're drunk. '" (Surat an-Nisa' [4]: 43) and "They ask thee concerning khamer and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men ..." (Surat Al-Baqarah [2]: 219) has been removed by a verse, "Surely (drinking) khamer, gambling ..." (Surat Al Maa'idah [5]: 90) (Hasan isnaad)

 عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ سَاقِيَ الْقَوْمِ حَيْثُ حُرِّمَتْ الْخَمْرُ فِي مَنْزِلِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ وَمَا شَرَابُنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا الْفَضِيخُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْخَمْرَ قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ وَنَادَى مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْنَا هَذَا مُنَادِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ 3673

. From Anas: I've become a giving (khamer) to many people, while the new Khamer Prohibition news reached the house of Abu Talha (they do not know), and our drinks when it was just fadhih (type of wine or wine). Suddenly a man entered our assembly and said, "Behold khamer Messenger have forbidden, and the muezzin had menyerunya." We also said, "This man is muadzinnya Prophet." (Saheeh: Bukhari [2464] and Muslim [6/87])
